The Shortform x Canon: New Language of Cinematic Content workshop is an immersive training experience designed to redefine how modern creators approach filmmaking. Cinematic storytelling is no longer reserved for massive crews and high-end productions. Led by Kobus Swart, this session will teach you how to think like a storyteller first, strategist second, and technician third, discovering how to maximize visual impact whether you are a solo hybrid shooter or working with a production crew.

Part 1: The Story First Approach  

• The Industry Shift: How tighter budgets, faster delivery, and vertical content changed production workflows.  
• What Makes Something Cinematic: Mastering emotion, mood, intentional framing, purposeful movement, and light.  
• The 3 Creator Categories: Tailoring your gear and workflow to your tier, from solo social content to high-end commercial sets (featuring the Canon EOS R50 V, EOS R5C, and EOS C50).  
• Thinking Like a Director: Seeing emotion before settings, reading natural light, and directing talent authentically.
