The Z 6II builds on the extreme versatility of the Z mirrorless platform with more autofocus options, more video capabilities, more low light performance, more buffer, more frames per second… more of everything you want in a hybrid still and video camera.
Amplify your versatility
The Nikon Z 6II enhances versatility with dual EXPEED 6 processors for faster performance, dual card slots for flexible storage options, 14 FPS high-speed shooting with a large buffer, and 4K UHD video at 60p (via firmware update) for smooth, detailed footage. The Nikon Z 6II enhances performance and versatility with the MB-N11 vertical grip, providing dedicated vertical controls and up to 1.9x longer battery life. Its advanced 273-point Hybrid AF system is optimised for stills, fast action, and video, offering 90% frame coverage and improved Eye-Detection AF for humans, dogs, and cats. Eye-Detection now works in Wide-Area (L) mode, allowing focus in a specific area (ideal for group or pet shots). The system excels in low light, finding subjects in half the light needed by its predecessor. During video recording, Eye-Detection remains active for sharp, professional results. Whether you're tracking subjects across the frame or capturing eyes in motion, the Z 6II delivers precise, reliable autofocus in every situation.Designed for creators, the Nikon Z 6II is a highly versatile video camera that takes the original Z 6’s strengths even further. It supports 4K UHD at 60p (DX-crop), Full HD at 120p, and in-camera 4K time-lapse, offering cinematic quality straight from the body. Record internally to CFexpress, XQD, or SD cards, or expand your setup with an external recorder for 10-bit N-Log or HDR (HLG) footage. For pro-level workflows, a paid firmware upgrade unlocks 12-bit ProRes RAW or Blackmagic RAW output via HDMI with compatible gear. Add visual impact with smooth slow motion using 120p Full HD playback at 30p, 25p, or 24p. Whether you're shooting solo or building a rig, the Z 6II adapts to your video needs.
Create in Camera
- Multiple Exposure: Combine up to 10 exposures into one visionary composition. Compose and blend - right in the viewfinder - while shooting, or go back later and combine shots with in-camera Retouch features.
- 900-second Exposures: Paint with light. Track the paths of stars. Capture movement like never before with long exposures up to 900-seconds. Use your smartphone to trigger the shutter to avoid camera vibrations.
- Focus Shift Shooting: The Z 6II will take a series of up to 300 photos, each with an incrementally adjusted focus position. Use third-party software to combine (focus stack) the photos into a single image with surreal depth of field and sharpness.
- Time-Lapse: Making time-lapse sequences is as easy as setting up the camera and hitting record. The Z 6II will create a 4K time-lapse movie and save all the full resolution stills (when used with interval timer shooting).
- Tweak. Shoot. Create: Add another element of uniqueness and artistry to your photos and videos with 20 Creative Picture Controls, all visible in real time while you shoot, either through the viewfinder or on the tilting touchscreen display.

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S Lens
Covering a useful range of focal lengths, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S is a versatile zoom, spanning wide-angle to portrait-length perspectives. Its constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains a consistent exposure throughout the zoom range and also helps to realise a more compact and lightweight alternative to an f/2.8 zoom. In regard to the optical design, a unique aspherical extra-low dispersion element, in addition to three aspherical elements, is used to help reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range in order to achieve high image sharpness and clarity. Both Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings have also been applied to control flare and ghosting for greater contrast and colour rendering in bright and backlit conditions.
Complementing the optics, a stepping motor provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override to suit both stills and video applications. A programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment over a variety of camera and exposure settings. Additionally, the lens has a button-less retractable barrel to realize a more compact form factor when not in use.
