The internal zoom design keeps the lens balanced at every focal length, and a 70° rotation from 180mm to 600mm means you get from wide-context to tight-reach without wrestling the barrel. Add a Z teleconverter and you're at 840mm or 1200mm while the optics maintain their sharpness, useful when a korhaan at Mkuze won't let you any closer.
