The Rode NTH-100M is a trustworthy headset designed for streaming, gaming, and content creation. It combines pro-grade headphones with a Rode-quality detachable boom microphone, creating a dependable broadcast-quality headset. This headset delivers outstanding sonic performance for content creation, audio and video production, gaming, podcasting, and streaming.
The NTH-100M features custom-matched 40mm dynamic drivers in over-ear, closed-back earcups with precision-engineered acoustic construction. This design delivers a balanced, “unhyped” tonal signature, clarity, and extended bandwidth. The headset also provides excellent passive isolation from external sounds and no leakage. The boom mic features an omnidirectional electret-condenser capsule for natural voice reproduction with exceptional clarity.
The included NTH-mic plugs directly into the 3.5mm jack on the earcup and features a 4.8” boom. This boom precisely positions the electret-condenser capsule for optimal sound quality. The microphone’s forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern allows the wearer to move comfortably while providing consistent volume levels. A splitter cable and an 8’ detachable cable with a 3.5mm TRRS plug are also provided for use with your phone or mobile device.
The NTH-100M is meticulously engineered and tuned to reproduce the details and nuances of your audio, whether it’s a single sound source, a mix in progress, or the final product. The unique ergonomic earcups are contoured to the shape of the ear for superior acoustic performance, with memory foam cushions ensuring excellent isolation from external noise. The headphones’ low impedance and high sensitivity make them very easy to drive with any interface, mixer, headphone amplifier, or mobile device.
Each earcup features a custom voice coil with a four-layer core made of ultrahigh-tension aluminium alloy, mated to a three-layer Mylar diaphragm. These high-grade components, including a rare-earth neodymium magnet and an innovative phase plug inspired by the award-winning NTG5 microphone, ensure an accurate frequency and phase response across the whole audible spectrum, delivering an incredibly articulate listening experience.
Crafted with comfort in mind, the NTH-100M features ergonomic earcups with a bidirectional adjustment system and memory foam cushions. This design ensures excellent sound isolation and provides a custom-fit feel for any head size or shape, even for those who wear glasses. The earpads and headband cushions are covered in Alcantara fabric, a premium material often used in sports cars and high-end fashion. It’s supremely comfortable to the touch, highly breathable, and very soft.
The company’s CoolTech gel is integrated into the cushions to absorb and dissipate heat, actively cooling your ears and reducing wearing fatigue. This makes it ideal for creators, mixing engineers, and podcasters working in long, arduous sessions.
The NTH-100 features a fully adjustable headband with the company’s innovative FitLok system. This locking mechanism keeps the earcups positioned exactly as you set them, ensuring a consistent fit every time.
The flexible cabling and versatile options make the NTH-100 a great choice. The detachable cable allows for flexible placement of the cable and mic, while the locking connector prevents accidental disconnects. The cable is also highly durable, user-replaceable, and equipped with integrated strain relief.
For headphone use, a standard 3.5mm TRS cable and an included screw-on 1/4” adaptor are supplied for compatibility with most playback devices and monitoring systems. For headset use, a splitter cable and a 7.8’ TRRS cable are supplied.
Cable variants are available in 7.9 and 3.9’ lengths, with a variety of colours for maximum convenience. They also feature channel-specific colour coding that matches the same four channel colours found in Rode Connect software and on the RODECaster Pro.
The stainless spring-steel headband was subjected to pressure equivalent to 25 years of use, and the final construction was stressed with thousands of pulls, bends, tugs, rotations, and stretches. Additionally, the headphones were tested in various environmental conditions, including climate, water exposure, drops, and scratches.
The wires connecting the earcups are rated to withstand over 55 pounds of force, while the cable and earcup sockets are rated to withstand over 26 pounds of force.
Regardless of the cable ID rings you use or the side you connect the cable to, there are three points of earcup identification: small coloured rings around the earcup wires, braille (raised dots) on each earcup, and L/R letters inside the earcups.
Customise Your NTH-100M with Modular Design
The NTH-100M features a modular design, allowing you to customise the earpads, headband, and cable. These components are all user-customisable and come in four colours. This not only extends the lifespan of the headphones but also lets you personalise them to suit your style.
