It offers full autofocus (AF) performance with α-series cameras and is notably compact and lightweight, enhancing both image quality and ease of use.
The lens features Sony’s latest optical innovations, including 2 extreme aspherical (XA) elements and 2 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, which deliver exceptional sharpness and minimise chromatic aberration. The Nano AR Coating II reduces flare and ghosting, ensuring excellent image clarity. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 0.85 meters for AF and 0.8 meters for manual focus (MF).
Enhanced optics improve the bokeh quality compared to the previous model. The 11-blade circular aperture and advanced spherical aberration control contribute to smoother transitions between sharp focus and background blur.
