It features a studio-grade preamp and a high-quality Neutrik combo jack that connects any microphone, instrument or high-power headphone amplifier into your Mac or Windows computer.
Its single input and streamlined controls let you record in no time. The AI-1 contains a single, combo XLR-1/4" input with phantom power, two balanced 1/4" monitor outputs, and a single, studio-quality headphone output and level control. When operating in the zero-latency monitoring mode, you can insert your headphone and experience delay-free performance while recording. There is no need for drivers as it has a USB-C connector that enables you to connect your computer while powering the AI-1 at the same time.
A free version of the Ableton Lite is included to start recording immediately. You will also have access to the RODE Central app that gives you device information and allows you to update your firmware. With the latest version, you can extend your gain range to enhance the performance on low-output dynamic microphones.

RODE Central is an easy-to-use companion app for the AI-1 (and other RØDE devices) that allows you to access device information and update to the latest firmware. The latest firmware version adds an extended gain range for enhanced performance with low-output dynamic microphones. To update, download RØDE Central below and follow the prompts.
