Learn how to take professional-looking close-up photographs of tiny animals. This practical workshop covers the essential camera settings, equipment, lighting and techniques needed to capture sharp, well-lit macro images in the field.

Tim Brammer is the founder of ProMacro, a specialist macro photography accessory brand. He has spent years photographing reptiles, amphibians and other small wildlife on expeditions to some of the most remote corners of Africa.

Each unit features a practical component, giving you the opportunity to put the techniques directly into practice. Live camera-to-screen casting will be used throughout the workshop to demonstrate settings and techniques in real time.

• Unit 2: Essential Macro Photography Settings:

• Unit 3: Macro Photography Lighting:
  Overcome the primary lighting challenges of working with small subjects. Compare natural light against artificial options (Speedlights, Ring Lights, Twin Flashes) and learn how to get natural-looking light.  
  
• Unit 4: Macro Photography Techniques:
  Master practical field techniques, including how to focus constantly at very close distances and how to find and approach tiny wildlife. Take your skills further with wide-angle macro and focus stacking.
