At 410g, this zoom lens is light enough to carry while you photograph a game from the sideline. The Sigma 50-120mm f/2.8 DC OS Contemporary Lens for Canon RF is an APS-C telephoto zoom with an optical stabiliser. It is made for hobbyist photographers who shoot events and indoor sports.
It supports comfortable shooting of both stills and video footage. One lens can cover photos of a match and short clips of the same event. The optical stabiliser reduces camera shake when you are shooting handheld. The optical design minimises focus breathing, keeping the image more consistent as you refocus. The 50-120mm range covers close framing and distant subjects without a lens change. At events, you can stay in one spot and follow the action. In indoor sports halls, the f/2.8 aperture helps in lower light, and the zoom lets you reframe as play moves across the floor.
