The Shimoda Designs Action X70 HD Backpack is the largest and most robust pack in the Action X series, developed to support demanding camera systems and heavy loads in challenging environments. Designed around Shimoda’s DV Core Unit system, the X70 HD is compatible with Large, Extra Large and XXL DV Core Units, allowing it to carry cine cameras, digital video rigs, and super-telephoto lenses up to a 600mm f/4.0. Core Units are sold separately, giving users the flexibility to configure the pack according to their specific equipment requirements.

The backpack features an adjustable torso height system with three positions, offering approximately 7 cm of vertical adjustment to ensure a comfortable and balanced fit for a wide range of body types. A rear padded sleeve accommodates laptops up to 16 inches (40 cm), making the pack suitable for production workflows that require both camera gear and computing equipment.

Expandable roll-top access provides up to 7 litres of additional volume, while a weather-resistant YKK SplashGuard® zipper offers quick top access in poor conditions. The Heavy Duty build introduces reinforced stress points, thick nylon webbing, aluminium hardware, and a redesigned belt system for increased stiffness and stability when carrying large loads.

Additional features include dual tripod or bottle pockets capable of holding 2-litre bottles, adjustable shoulder straps with zippered storage pockets, and a hidden tracking device sleeve compatible with AirTag and Tile Pro. Supplied as a backpack shell with a helmet holder and rain cover, the Action X70 HD is intended for professionals who require durability, modularity, and support for large-scale camera systems in remote or rugged environments.
