Serves as both a visual logging tool for metadata (scene, take, etc.) and an auditory cue for audio video synchronisation (sync) in post-production. 

Durable Construction 

Made from high quality acrylic or similar durable material (depending on the specific Selens model) for the slate and lacquered wood for the clapper sticks. 

High Visibility Surface 

The surface is typically a bright white (or sometimes colour acrylic), designed for easy writing with dry wipe markers (not included) and high visibility on camera. 

Auditory Sync Cue 

The lacquered wooden sticks close with a sharp, clear 'clack' sound,
providing a precise peak waveform reference for editors to perfectly
align audio and video tracks. 

Essential Metadata Fields 

Clearly printed fields allow easy logging of essential production details: Production Title, Director's Name, Camera Operator, Date, Roll Number, and Scene/Take number.
