We firmly believe the NTH-100s are the most comfortable headphones you will ever wear. They are optimised for long-format content creation, with every component painstakingly crafted with comfort in mind. This, of course, starts with the earcups and headband.

The NTH-100s feature luxurious Alcantara® fabric on the earpad and headband cushions. This is a premium material often used in sports cars and high-end fashion. It is supremely comfortable to the touch – highly breathable and very soft – and extremely durable (more on this later).

The earpads also feature our revolutionary CoolTechTM gel integrated into the cushions, which absorbs and dissipates heat, actively cooling your ears to reduce wearing fatigue. This feature is invaluable for creators who often find themselves in long, arduous sessions – from mixing engineers to podcasters.

The balanced frequency response of the NTH-100s is also perfect for long sessions as it reduces listening fatigue that can be caused by pronounced frequencies common in other headphones.

The ergonomic earcups are incredibly comfortable and also feature a bi-directional adjustment system and memory foam cushions, which not only ensure excellent sound isolation but also give the headphones a custom-fit feel for any head size or shape (even for people who wear glasses). They also feature cable attachments on both the left and right earcups, with cables available in both 2.4m and 1.2m variants for maximum convenience.

Finally, the NTH-100s feature a fully adjustable headband with our innovative FitLokTM locking system that secures the earcups in place, so they feel exactly how you remember them every time you put them on.

Extremely comfortable and a neutral sound quality.

I use headphones a lot, if we are filming on location I always monitor the sound via a pair and when back at the office editing, I will complete 90% of my edits with headphones, before tweaking the final edit via near-field monitors.

I must admit I love RODE products and ever since they launched the NTH-100s, I was keeping a close eye on the reviews and eventually decided to buy a pair and I was pleasantly surprised!

Right out of the box they were used to monitor the audio for some 15+ interviews and consumer chats that were being filmed in quite challenging locations and having the NTH-100s surely assisted me in getting the necessary quality audio we required.

I immediately liked the fit and the ability to lock the headband via the ‘fit-lock’, so even after going in and out of my equipment bag numerous times throughout the day, they were still adjusted perfectly to my liking. The Alcantara ear cups, memory foam and cooling gel work together to give you a very comfortable fit around the ears and it surely takes a long time before your ears start to feel warm. The ear-cups offer a fair amount of noise reduction/isolation (not nearly what active noise cancellation can offer), but definitely better than any pair of earphones I owned before.

The sound quality took a moment to get used to, but I soon realised there is no unnatural boost to the mids or any other part of the frequency band when monitoring or editing. After using them for a few weeks now, I am convinced that the more neutral sound is definitely a benefit whilst monitoring or editing.

Price-wise, they aren’t cheap, but neither are any other RODE products, but you surely get what you pay for!
