Nikon Z 40mm f/2 Lens (Special Edition)

“The design of the lens, with “(SE)” in its naming in reference to ‘Special Edition’, expands the choice of lenses to aesthetically match the equally distinctive design of the Z fc – unique and iconic. Weighing at approximately 170g and a total length of approximately 45.5mm, the versatile and compact lens delivers stunning expressions for both stills and videos,” said Grant Norton, CEO of Premium Brand Distributors for Nikon in South Africa.

Bring the beauty of bokeh to life with the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 SE. Remarkably compact and lightweight, take this all-purpose prime lens wherever you go to capture a wide range of scenes, from portraits to close ups, all with impressive bokeh. Combining aesthetics and functionality, the lens features a next-generation Z lens design with an elegant satin finish and smooth operational feel.

Versatility on-the-go

Experience incredible versatility with the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 SE. Delivering exceptional image quality within its compact and robust body that weighs approximately 170g, the balance between its small size and superior optical performance is made possible with Z mount and its large diameter and short flange focal distance. The 40mm standard normal angle of view is easy to use for day-to-day scenes and subjects, from products to portraits, and even being able to get closer to your subject as desired with the minimum focus distance of 29cm.

Grab hold of every photo opportunity and always be ready to capture every moment with the lens’ small-diameter, high-torque stepping motor (STM) that delivers fast and precise autofocus (AF) control. Together with the non-retracting mechanism design and robust dust- and drip-resistant performance, go places with the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 SE.

A visual treat

Effortlessly enhance your imagery with this fast prime lens. With a fast constant maximum aperture of f/2, achieve faster shutter speeds and minimised camera shake for sharper shots. This, combined with the adoption of 9 aperture blades, makes it possible for users to achieve a more circular bokeh. Make each composition a visual treat that is pleasing to the eye, and bring your subjects to attention with soft and creamy bokeh in the background.

Smooth operator

Turn everyday moments into moving works of art with the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 SE that delivers a stunning cinematic performance. Shoot in silence with the quiet operation of the click-less control ring and AF mechanism with STM, which not only keeps lens drive and operation sounds to a minimum, but also prevents them from being recorded. Capture scenes and subjects as they are, naturally, as focus breathing reduction prevents the shifting of the angle of view when acquiring focus. What’s more, with the stabilised exposure during aperture changes, achieve smooth, natural brightness changes as you shoot.

Make the most out of the compact mirrorless system with its small size, and enjoy the ease and convenience of handheld shooting or when using a gimbal.
