A Telephoto Zoom For Hybrid Shooting

Whether it’s stills or videos, this lens will perform brilliantly thanks to a fast f/2.8 aperture for great depth of field control, and a versatile zoom range.

Short film and documentary

Fast and quiet, ideal for single operator filming, with optional RF 1.4x and 2x Extenders, and optional power zoom adaptors.

Wedding and events

Produce high-quality stills and videos with greater reach, to capture every event of the day even when the light drops.

Portraits

11-blade aperture and longer focal lengths for stunning out-of-focus backgrounds, plus incredible sharpness and colour accuracy.

Reach Both Sides Of Your Story

Achieve greater flexibility, clarity and reach. With a constant f/2.8 from 70mm up to 200mm, this zoom has got you covered. Optional RF 1.4x and RF 2x Extenders offer additional reach.

Extend your reach with clarity and precision

Capture stunning stills and steady footage with a versatile 70-200mm focal length range, while maintaining great depth-of-field control thanks to a constant f/2.8 aperture. Achieve sharp results with a 5.5-stop Optical Image Stabiliser, and more with an IBIS-equipped camera.

Capture sharp, high contrast images

Avoid aberration, ghosting and flare, thanks to two Super UD lenses, one UD lens, three aspherical lenses, and ASC and Super Spectra coatings. Plus, a fluorine coating protects the front element from dirt.

Fast, agile, and intuitive

Manually adjust your aperture with a smooth Iris Ring and enjoy a smoother, silent operation with 32 steps between stops in movie mode. A lock release switch for the 'Auto' position provides greater control, with an 11-blade iris for beautiful circular bokeh.

Steady Shots Every Time

Use the slider to see how the lens’ Optical Image Stabiliser can deliver smooth and stable images and video footage.

Accurate autofocus for stills and videos

Enjoy a smooth autofocus thanks to a Dual Nano USM, as well as professional filmmaking features including Electronic Parfocal Performance focus stability while zooming and focus breathing suppression to maintain a consistent field-of view when pulling focus.

Zoom smoother and remotely

Operate optional Power Zoom Adaptors – PZ-E2 or PZ-E2B – by hand or remotely via Canon's Camera Connect / EOS Utility applications, Browser Remote function or over IP using Canon’s XC Protocol with compatible cameras. The PZ-E2B’s 20-pin interface also supports Zoom/Focus demands and the Zoom Servo Grip.
