The NiSi True Colour ND-VARIO Variable 1-5 stops filter is the ideal tool for photographers who want to approach the world of long exposures and for videographers who want to be able to control the light in real time during shooting, without introducing any type of artefact or aberration. NiSi Filters has created a unique filter, allowing you to use a  single filter to obtain a reduction of the light that enters the lens from 1 to 5 stops. The NiSi Variable filter is considered the best on the market, at the right price, thanks to the possibility of purchasing the product directly from the manufacturer. In any case, all Vario filters are not real ND filters, but always formed by two treated surfaces that in contrast reduce the light entering the sensor. For this reason, even the best variable filter is never exempt from some small defects such as: uniformity of absorption and presence of slightly darker or lighter areas. We always recommend the use of variables as a practical alternative to ND filters and not as a total substitute. The advice of using only high quality ones such as Vario-ND NiSi remains valid. For specific uses where fixed density NDs can be equipped (and especially for focal lengths below 35mm), we recommend fixed density ND filters.
