Mid-TelephotoTELEPHOTOA lens with long focal length capable of making distant objects appear nearer thus larger. Essentially, it isolates and magnifies the subject so that it appears as a full image when shooting from a distance. Telephoto lenses are ideal for photographing subjects that are further away, such as wildlife and sports photography. MacroMACROProducing photographs that render extreme close-ups of extremely small subjects like insects, hence its popularity among nature photographers. It requires using a macro lens with a large reproduction (magnification) ratio of at least 1:1, which renders a subject larger than life size. Macro lenses are capable of focussing at extremely short distances (some as little as a few centimetres), allowing the photographer to get very close to the subject. Lens

The GF 120mm F/4 R LM OIS WR Macro is a mid-telephoto macro lens specifically designed for the new G Mount and 43.8 x 32.9 mm sensor. The GF lens range, which can cope with resolutions up to 100 megapixelPIXELThe shortening of 'picture element', a basic unit of programmable colour forming the dots that make up an image. Pixel size depends on a camera’s resolution, which is measured in megapixels (MP), meaning millions of pixels. The more pixels on a sensor, the smaller they have to be to fit. An image's number (or density) of pixels correlate to the amount of information and image holds. Cameras with more pixels on the sensor have a higher pixel density and thus more resolving power, able to capture smaller details with much more clarity and accuracy. Higher resolution images can be cropped more agressively and also produce better quality large prints.s, combines the latest technologies with extensive knowledge accumulated from making XF lenses to deliver the best possible image quality and realise the full potential of the macro lens for Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format mirrorless camera. The intuitive controls include a C position on the apertureAPERTUREAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Aperture refers to an opening inside the lens, similar to the iris of your eye, that changes in diameter to control the amount of light that enters a camera. Aperture is expressed in f-stops: the lower the number, the larger the aperture, e.g. f/1.4 is larger than f/8. A larger (or wider) aperture allows more light to pass through the lens to the sensor (film) as a picture is taken, particularly useful in low-light conditions. A larger aperture also produces a shallower depth-of-field, and thus more background blur. ring, which allows you to adjust the aperture value with the command dial on the camera body. The A (Auto) and C positions are now lockable and all the lenses are weather and dust-resistant, plus they can work in temperatures as low as -10°C for worry-free shooting outdoors. A brass mount has been adopted for the strength. This new lens series is set to become a professional workhorse.

High Image quality

The lens construction of 14 elements in 9 groups (including 3 ED lens) delivers high-resolution images with minimal aberration thanks to the floating focus system. The positioning of the three ED lenses is optimised so that the colour aberration is minimised ensuring the best possible image quality with beautiful front and rear bokehBOKEHPronounced: /ˈboʊkɛ/, /ˈboʊkeɪ/ [boh-kay] or /ˈboʊkə/ [boh-kə] Originating from the Japanese word Boke (ボケ), meaning 'blur' or 'haze', it refers to the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. It has also been defined as the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light. Bokeh depends on various aspects of lens design. Aperture design has the largest effect on Bokeh, and generally a lens with a more rounded aperture produces a more pleasing, natural Bokeh..

Fast, silent autofocus

A floating focus system with two linear motors drives the autofocus lens group for a fast, silent AF performance.

Image Stabilisation

A 5-stop image stabiliser inspires confidence when shooting hand-held.

Weather- & dust-resistant

This pro macro lens features nine weather resistant seals so you can shoot outdoors in wet, cold or dusty conditions. A fluorine coating is also applied to the front lens element to repel water and dirt, further improving the toughness of the lens.

Operation

The aperture ring has a C position (Command dial mode). This allows you to control the aperture with the command dial on the camera body. The A (AUTO) and C positions are lockable to prevent incorrect operations. A focus range selector allows you to set the optimal focus range for macro and mid-telephoto use to reduce autofocusing time.
