  • ISO ISO Exposure is controlled by three elements: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. The ISO speed determines how sensitive a camera's sensor is to incoming light. A higher ISO speed absorbs more light, resulting in a brighter exposure, however, a higher ISO also results in more digital noise in low-light conditions. Cameras with larger sensors (like full-frame cameras) typically have higher ISO speed capability and produce less digital noise at high ISO settings. Digital cameras include a control for adjusting ISO speed, some of which can be set to adjust automatically in combination with certain other exposure settings. ISO is indicated in numbers usually starting at 100 and going upward (200, 400, 800, 1600 etc.) doubling in sensitivity each time. Every aspect and component of the RX100 VI has been skillfully engineered to work in tandem to achieve unrivalled image quality. Cleverly designed optics pack incredible power in a small footprint, while optical image stabilisation maintains a steady image even with handheld shots at the telephoto end of the zoom range. And the advanced image processing engine delivers better-perceived image resolutionIMAGE RESOLUTIONRefers to the information a digital image holds, measured in megapixels (MP). A digital camera with greater MP is more desirable as it enables you to collect more information necessary for delivering high-quality images fit for resizing or down-sampling. Note that an image’s MP may be misleading as it only tells you how many pixels it holds and not its actual dimensions (width and height). The pixels may be concentrated in a smaller area (high pixel density and thus higher resolution), resulting in a high-quality image, or spread out over a larger area, resulting in a low-quality pixelated image. The number of pixels in an image can be calculated by multiplying the horizontal and vertical pixel dimensions - e.g. a 3000 x 2000 pixel image contains 6 megapixels (6 million pixels). with low noiseNOISEThe appearance of random pixels scattered over a photo, similar to the grain effect seen in film photography, which degrades photo quality almost as if it is stained. It occurs when taking photos in low-light conditions, with very slow shutter speeds on high sensitivity (ISO) settings. It is caused by amplification done by the sensor when high ISO settings are used. You can counteract digital noise by lowering the sensitivity (ISO) setting of your camera - the lower the ISO setting, the lower the noise in the image. Typically cameras with larger sensors (like full-frame cameras) will inherently produce less noise due to larger pixels on the sensor..

It brings a truly remarkable telephoto capability to a pocket-size package, to vastly expand your range of creative expression.

Wide zoom range in a compact body

The lens optics (15 elements in 12 groups) provide uncompromising high-quality images over a broad zoom range despite the compact configuration.

High-resolution optics

Lens elements including four AA (advanced aspherical) lenses and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements work together to achieve superb resolution right out to the periphery of the image, throughout the telephoto range.

Large apertureAPERTUREAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Aperture refers to an opening inside the lens, similar to the iris of your eye, that changes in diameter to control the amount of light that enters a camera. Aperture is expressed in f-stops: the lower the number, the larger the aperture, e.g. f/1.4 is larger than f/8. A larger (or wider) aperture allows more light to pass through the lens to the sensor (film) as a picture is taken, particularly useful in low-light conditions. A larger aperture also produces a shallower depth-of-field, and thus more background blur.

Large apertures across the zoom range enable rapid shutter speedSHUTTER SPEEDAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Shutter speed is the length of time that a single frame is exposed for, more specifically how fast the shutter opens and closes to permit light entering the lens, to reach the sensor. A slow shutter speed means a longer exposure time useful for motion blur like the silky look of flowing water, whereas a fast shutter speed means a shorter exposure time useful for freezing the appearance of motion in images like a hummingbird in flight. It is measured in seconds starting at 1 second and halving our doubling in time. For example: 1/2s, 1/4s and 1/8s are all fractions of a second with 1/2s being the longest exposure time, 1/4s half of that and 1/8s another half etc.s and large amounts of bokehBOKEHPronounced: /ˈboʊkɛ/, /ˈboʊkeɪ/ [boh-kay] or /ˈboʊkə/ [boh-kə] Originating from the Japanese word Boke (ボケ), meaning 'blur' or 'haze', it refers to the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. It has also been defined as the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light. Bokeh depends on various aspects of lens design. Aperture design has the largest effect on Bokeh, and generally a lens with a more rounded aperture produces a more pleasing, natural Bokeh.. Even in the mid-telephoto range, the camera maintains apertures of f/4 at 100mm* and f/4.5 at 200mm*.

Touch Shutter compatible tiltable LCD monitor
The Touch Shutter is an intuitive alternative to pressing the shutter button, and it may be easier to reach in some situations, depending on how the camera is held. You can tilt the monitor roughly 180°upwards and 90°downwards.
