The Next Generation Of NIKKOR Glass
Empowered by the larger Z Mount and shorter 16mm flange focal distance, NIKKOR Z lenses gather more light and break traditional rules of the “sweet spot”. Forget about stopping down for maximum sharpness—NIKKOR Z is at their best and deliver corner-to-corner sharpness even at their widest apertureAPERTUREAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Aperture refers to an opening inside the lens, similar to the iris of your eye, that changes in diameter to control the amount of light that enters a camera. Aperture is expressed in f-stops: the lower the number, the larger the aperture, e.g. f/1.4 is larger than f/8. A larger (or wider) aperture allows more light to pass through the lens to the sensor (film) as a picture is taken, particularly useful in low-light conditions. A larger aperture also produces a shallower depth-of-field, and thus more background blur..

The system pays attention to the upper body, too, maintaining a focus position when your subject briefly turns away from the camera or moves out of view.
OH, WHAT A VIEW
Take an ultra-high resolution QUAD VGA display, add Nikon optics for magnification, including Aspherical lens elements and Fluorine coating, and you’ve got an EVF experience unlike any before it. Minimal lag and blackout, 100% frame coverage (approx.), corner-to-corner clarity and sharp magnification. It has the feel of an optical viewfinder, and you can use it for both stills and videos.
KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE
All relevant info is displayed out of the way and is easy on the eyes. A new customizable menu appears right inside the viewfinder, so you can quickly adjust settings without ever taking your eye off the shot. Focus modes, white balance, exposureEXPOSUREExposure is controlled by three elements: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. Achieving the correct exposure is similar to collecting rain in a bucket, up to an optimum level. The rate of rainfall is out of your control (light), yet you can control these three factors: the bucket’s width (lens aperture), the duration you leave it in the rain (shutter speed), and how effective your bucket is in collecting rain (ISO). These three elements work together to control the amount of light per unit area, preventing underexposure (too dark) or overexposure (too bright), giving you a natural looking image., VR settings, Picture Controls, and more—all within eye’s reach. Preview exposure and white balance changes, image stabilization and depth-of-field in real time. You can even review the photo or video you just shot.

A BREAKTHROUGH IN OPTICAL DESIGN
17% larger internal diameter than Nikon’s acclaimed F Mount. Wider than any full-frame mount available*. It totally changes what’s possible with lens design. Enhanced low-light performance. Even illumination from corner-to-corner. Maximum apertures are as wide as f/0.95. Faster data transfer between camera and lens. This is the ideal balance between mount diameter, large image sensor and flange focal distance.
NIKKOR Z 24-70MM F/4 S LENS
Included with the camera body is the standard zoom NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens, which covers a wide-angle to the portrait-length range and features a constant f/4 maximum aperture. The optical design incorporates one aspherical element as well as a unique aspherical extra-low dispersion element; both of which help to greatly reduce a variety of aberrations and distortion for high sharpness and accurate colour rendering. A Nano Crystal Coating is also used to control flareFLAREOccurs when a point light source such as the sun or an artificial light (that is brighter than the rest of the scene), hits the front element of a lens resulting in a lack of contrast, haze, or unwanted semi-transparent objects being present in the image. You can avoid lens flare with a lenshood or filters, however, the effect is also useful for bringing artistic elements into an image, such as sun rays peaking out from behind a rock formation. and ghosting for increased contrast in strong lighting conditions. Suiting both photo and video applications, a stepping AF motor is also featured for smooth, near-silent autofocus performance.
FTZ MOUNT ADAPTOR
Enabling the use of nearly any Nikon F-mount lens on Z-mount mirrorless camera bodies, the FTZ Mount Adapter is a sophisticated means for expanding the range of usable lenses. While compatible with approximately 360 distinct F-mount lenses, this adapter is especially ideal for use with over 90 E, G, and D-type lenses, where it fully maintains autofocus and auto-exposure capabilities for seamless use of the SLR lenses on the mirrorless body. The adapter, which is built from magnesium alloy and is weather-sealed, also incorporates a 1/4"-20 mount on the base to provide a more balanced means for working on a tripod with longer, heavier lenses.
