The Lumix S1H features a 24.2MP full-frame MOS sensor offers a wide dynamic range and sharp, natural expression at high sensitivity settings. It offers impressive video capabilities with full-area 3:2 6K24p, C4K(4,096 x 2,160) and anamorphic modes. Dual Native ISO offers the advantages of very high sensitivity for low-light shoots while suppressing noise levels, allowing the camera to switch from a standard sensitivity to a higher sensitivity with almost no noise degradation. The V-LOG/V-GAMUT features a wider 14+ stops of dynamic range, which are compatible with the Cinema VariCam Look, to capture everything from shadows to highlights, and the rugged design dust, splash and freeze-resistant for use under harsh conditions.

Newly Designed Full-frame Sensor with Dual Native ISO ISO Exposure is controlled by three elements: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. The ISO speed determines how sensitive a camera's sensor is to incoming light. A higher ISO speed absorbs more light, resulting in a brighter exposure, however, a higher ISO also results in more digital noise in low-light conditions. Cameras with larger sensors (like full-frame cameras) typically have higher ISO speed capability and produce less digital noise at high ISO settings. Digital cameras include a control for adjusting ISO speed, some of which can be set to adjust automatically in combination with certain other exposure settings. ISO is indicated in numbers usually starting at 100 and going upward (200, 400, 800, 1600 etc.) doubling in sensitivity each time. Most cameras also indicate 3rd stop intervals (100, 125, 180, 200 etc.)Technology

The newly designed 24.2-megapixelPIXELThe shortening of 'picture element', a basic unit of programmable colour forming the dots that make up an image. Pixel size depends on a camera’s resolution, which is measured in megapixels (MP), meaning millions of pixels. The more pixels on a sensor, the smaller they have to be to fit. An image's number (or density) of pixels correlate to the amount of information and image holds. Cameras with more pixels on the sensor have a higher pixel density and thus more resolving power, able to capture smaller details with much more clarity and accuracy. Higher resolution images can be cropped more agressively and also produce better quality large prints. full-frame CMOS image sensor can leverage a dual-base ISO setting, resulting in outstanding image quality in low light with minimised noiseNOISEThe appearance of random pixels scattered over a photo, similar to the grain effect seen in film photography, which degrades photo quality almost as if it is stained. It occurs when taking photos in low-light conditions, with very slow shutter speeds on high sensitivity (ISO) settings. It is caused by amplification done by the sensor when high ISO settings are used. You can counteract digital noise by lowering the sensitivity (ISO) setting of your camera - the lower the ISO setting, the lower the noise in the image. Typically cameras with larger sensors (like full-frame cameras) will inherently produce less noise due to larger pixels on the sensor. from low to high sensitivity.

Wide Range of Recording Formats to Support Every Type of Shoot

The Lumix S1H covers every industry, from cinema to TV broadcasting. In addition to C4K/4K 60p/50p 4:2:0 10-bit and C4K/4K 30p/25p/24p 4:2:2 10-bit, it offers 6K/24p 4:2:0 10-bit in 3:2.

4:2:2 10-bit Internal Recording / HDMI Output

Featuring a rich colour profile, C4K/4K 30p/25p/24p 4:2:2 10-bit video is recordable in-camera. It also delivers 4:2:2 10-bit HDMI output. The 4:2:2 10-bit format expresses over 1 billion colours.

V-Log/V-Gamut with 14+ Stops of Dynamic Range

With Cinema VariCam Look compatibility and 14+ stops dynamic range, V-Log and V-Gamut are preinstalled for accurate colour reproduction, subtle gradations and precise colour control in post-production.

4K HDR Video

HDR modes in HLG format: 4K HEVC (HLG) video mode and Photo Style “Like2100.” On HDR devices, you'll view amazing dynamic range and extremely fine gradations of light and dark.

Anamorphic Recording

4K 4:3, 6K full-frame 3:2, DCI-4K, and more. Post-production from anamorphic lenses makes Cinemascope possible. An Anamorphic Desqueeze Display function displays Cinemascope-size video at 1.3x, 1.33x, 1.5x, 1.8x, and 2.0x.

VFR (Variable Frame Rate)

Support for overcranking and undercranking with access to 2.5x slow in C4K/4K and 7.5x super-slow in FHD. Create emotional slow-motion footage of up to 30x normal speed (30p/2 fps).

5-axis Dual I.S. 2 Stability

With the 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 (Image Stabiliser), intelligent compensation provides an equivalent to 6.5-stops of exposureEXPOSUREExposure is controlled by three elements: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. Achieving the correct exposure is similar to collecting rain in a bucket, up to an optimum level. The rate of rainfall is out of your control (light), yet you can control these three factors: the bucket’s width (lens aperture), the duration you leave it in the rain (shutter speed), and how effective your bucket is in collecting rain (ISO). These three elements work together to control the amount of light per unit area, preventing underexposure (too dark) or overexposure (too bright), giving you a natural looking image. compensation, meaning sharp photos from slower shutter speedSHUTTER SPEEDAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Shutter speed is the length of time that a single frame is exposed for, more specifically how fast the shutter opens and closes to permit light entering the lens, to reach the sensor. A slow shutter speed means a longer exposure time useful for motion blur like the silky look of flowing water, whereas a fast shutter speed means a shorter exposure time useful for freezing the appearance of motion in images like a hummingbird in flight. It is measured in seconds starting at 1 second and halving our doubling in time. For example: 1/2s, 1/4s and 1/8s are all fractions of a second with 1/2s being the longest exposure time, 1/4s half of that and 1/8s another half etc.s. The feature is available in both photo and 4K video capture.

Built Tough for Rugged Conditions

The durable magnesium alloy die-cast frame is sealed to help protect every seam, dial and button. The camera is dust and splash-resistant* and designed for use in temperatures as low as -10°C.
*Dust and Splash Resistant does not guarantee that damage will not occur if this camera is subjected to direct contact with dust and water

Heat Dispersing Fan Enabling Non-stop Recording

To dissipate the heat generated by recording non-stop, a highly-effective and independently operating fan is now included within the body — an industry first.

1.8-inch High-Resolution Status LCD

The newly developed high-resolution 1.8-inch status LCD presents optimal information for still photography or videography. Time code and audio information can be customised with switchable black or white background.

0.08 sec DFD AF

Super-fast sensor-lens communication of 480 fps and Panasonic’s DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology helps make high-speed, high-precision autofocus of approximately 0.08 sec a reality.
