Nikon Z 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens

Designed for the Nikon Z mount system, the Nikon Z 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is a high-power all-in-one zoom spanning a wide-angle to telephoto range.
The lens achieves consistent high resolution, regardless of focal lengths or shooting distances, making it a perfect lens for both still shooting and video recording. Its short minimum focus distance of 20cm at the maximum wide-angle position makes it an optimal lens for capturing dynamic close-up shots such as tabletop photography.
The lens also realises high vibration reduction performance with an effect equivalent to a 5.0-stop (based on CIPA Standard) increase in shutter speed, which allows users to concentrate on their work, even during telephoto shooting or in low-light situations where camera shake is likely to occur.
- Z-Mount Lens/DX Format

This lens is convenient for capturing a wide variety of subjects with high portability, from landscapes to portraits, for both stills and videos.
Less to carry, more to see
The world's a big place—far too big to be left to the imagination. The NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is a lens that can explore it all with you. Go from detailed wide-angle landscapes to lively street scenes to telephoto close-ups with beautifully blurred backgrounds, even macro-style shots, all with a single lightweight DX-format lens that delivers outstanding image quality shot after shot.
Versatile 7.8x zoom
The NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR can cover just about any shot. It smoothly zooms from a wide-angle 18mm (27mm equivalent on DX cameras), through the sweet spots of the focal length range—35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 105mm—all the way up to 140mm of telephoto power (210mm equivalent on DX cameras).
Every angle is its best angle
Outstanding NIKKOR Z optics deliver beautiful high-resolution, high-contrast images and videos across the entire zoom range. ED glass significantly reduces axial chromatic aberration and minimises colour bleeding across the entire frame.
Take it everywhere
Despite its big zoom range, the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is a lightweight, compact do-it-all lens that's great for travel, events or just shooting on the go.
VR keeps it steady
5.0 stops of built-in VR* image stabilisation counteracts hand-held camera shake for steadier videos and sharper photos. It also lets you shoot stills at slower shutter speeds without causing motion blur.
*Measured in accordance with CIPA standards when the lens is used with a DX-format camera and the camera’s VR mode is set to [Normal]. Measured at the maximum telephoto position.
Outstanding for video
Make smooth iris transitions and exposure adjustments thanks to an electromagnetic diaphragm. The ultra-quiet stepping motor prevents focus drive sounds from being captured on video, and focus breathing is greatly suppressed.
Close focus for macro-style shots
Get as close as 20 cm from your subject and fill the frame with macro-style details at a large 0.33x reproduction ratio. This is great for tabletop shots and food photography, where you can't exactly back up.
*Distance from the front surface of the lens to the focus position. At wide-angle position.
Dust and drip-resistant
The lens barrel and all moving parts are designed carefully considering dust- and drip-resistant performance with sealing that prevents dust and water droplets from entering the lens.* *The lens is not guaranteed to be dust- and drip-resistant in all situations and under all conditions.
Compact & lightweight
At just 315 grams and 3.6 inches collapsed, the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is ideal for travel or just an every day, do-it-all walkaround lens.
Customisable control
The smooth click-less control ring can be customised for the way you shoot. Use it for precise manual focusing or to adjust the aperture, ISO or exposure compensation.
Brilliant by design: Precision feel. Classic knurling.
Cross-pattern texture clearly distinguishes the control ring from the zoom ring while maintaining a precise look and feel.
Technology
- Vibration Reduction: A Nikon in-lens technology that improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. Lenses that offer VR will feature the abbreviation VR on the lens barrel.
- ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass: An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.
- Aspherical Lens: A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimise coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the centre of the lens.
- Stepping Motor: NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, accurate, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video.
- IF Lens: A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKOR do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.
