The stills-focused DC-G9 Micro Four Thirds Mirrorless Camera has a variety of newly developed functions and features that will appeal to photographers. Central to the imaging process is the combination of a 20.3MP Live MOS sensor and the latest Venus Engine processor, enabling the capture of sharp images and video with sensitivities ranging up to ISO 25600.

Extremely fast speeds are also made available with up to 60 fps continuous shooting with the electronic shutter function. If you want to shoot video along with stills the G9 is very accommodating, offering UHD 4K at up to 60p.

Super Fast. Customisable. LEICA Optics.

The Lumix G9 is the highest-end, stills-oriented Lumix camera to date for evocative, high-res imaging and precision performance for wedding, landscape and other still photography genres.

80MP RAW Capture

A special High-Resolution mode vastly improves RAW image quality to 80MP in-camera (10,368 x 7,776 equivalent) simply by shifting the 20.3MP sensor eight times to create a single image.

First of Its Kind

The G9 is the first Lumix Micro Four Thirds camera equipped with a High-Resolution mode to create higher resolution files. The result is exceptionally detailed imaging, whether shooting RAW or JPEG.

Expanded Focus Detect

A joystick controller smoothly selects focus blocks inside the focusing area grid overlay. A 225-Area AF focus detection area is expanded from 49 to 225 points. Custom Multi AF mode enables free selection of blocks inside the 225 focusing area.

Super 0.83x OLED Viewfinder.

A large, high-resolution 3,680k-dot OLED Live View Finder (LVF) vastly improves visibility for pinpoint accurate framing even under direct sunlight.

Wear Glasses? No more viewfinder clash with the highest-level 0.83x magnification ever, together with a long 21mm eye-point distance for framing you can clearly — and comfortably — see.

Quick Custom Setup

The Lumix G9 is highly customisable. A well-placed Function (Fn) lever makes it quick and easy to switch between 17 settings. Great for seamless switching from RAW to JPEG, Color to Monochrome and Night Mode to Photo Quality, Photo Stabiliser, Shutter Type and more.

Dual SD Card Slots
SD slot modes let you swap a full card for an empty one, duplicate recording on both cards simultaneously or alternate between stills and video recording. Compatible with UHS-II Video Speed Class 60 cards.

AF Thumb Joystick
A quickly accessible four-way AF thumb joystick provides a textured design for instant gripping and control. A quick press inward returns your point to default

Frame Drive Mode Switch
This time-saving dial on the camera's top shoulder (under the Mode Dial) controls release modes for Single, Burst (I / II ), 6K Photo, Post Focus, Self Timer and Time Lapse to eliminate digging into the menu to access different release modes.

Eliminate the Shake

5-Axis Dual I.S. 2.0 (Image Stabiliser)* yields the equivalent of 6.5-stops in slower shutter speedSHUTTER SPEEDAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Shutter speed is the length of time that a single frame is exposed for, more specifically how fast the shutter opens and closes to permit light entering the lens, to reach the sensor. A slow shutter speed means a longer exposure time useful for motion blur like the silky look of flowing water, whereas a fast shutter speed means a shorter exposure time useful for freezing the appearance of motion in images like a hummingbird in flight. It is measured in seconds starting at 1 second and halving our doubling in time. For example: 1/2s, 1/4s and 1/8s are all fractions of a second with 1/2s being the longest exposure time, 1/4s half of that and 1/8s another half etc.** to virtually eliminate shake in body and lens even while shooting telephotoTELEPHOTOA lens with long focal length capable of making distant objects appear nearer thus larger. Essentially, it isolates and magnifies the subject so that it appears as a full image when shooting from a distance. Telephoto lenses are ideal for photographing subjects that are further away, such as wildlife and sports photography. ***. Dual I.S. also exceeds in both photo and video recording, including 4K video.

Top View LCD

A light-up, quick-read status LCD instantly confirms control settings to help you keep track of frequent setting adjustments and framing with the viewfinder and rear monitor.

USB Power Supply

With USB power supply compatibility, you can confidently shoot while connected to the battery charger and eliminate worry about remaining battery power. It's particularly useful for nature photography when waiting patiently for the shot to happen.

The Perfect Camera. For Perfect Stills

The Lumix G9 is designed with a magnesium alloy, full diecast frame and durable high-speed shutter unit good for approx. 200,000 times release. In every way, it's the pro quality, still-oriented camera for shooting all-season landscapes, weddings in a church or on a beach, expressive portraiture and more.

  • ISO ISO Exposure is controlled by three elements: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. The ISO speed determines how sensitive a camera's sensor is to incoming light. A higher ISO speed absorbs more light, resulting in a brighter exposure, however, a higher ISO also results in more digital noise in low-light conditions. Cameras with larger sensors (like full-frame cameras) typically have higher ISO speed capability and produce less digital noise at high ISO settings. Digital cameras include a control for adjusting ISO speed, some of which can be set to adjust automatically in combination with certain other exposure settings. ISO is indicated in numbers usually starting at 100 and going upward (200, 400, 800, 1600 etc.) doubling in sensitivity each time. Most cameras also indicate 3rd stop intervals (100, 125, 180, 200 etc.)25600 and 60 fps Continuous Shooting

Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 Lens

Spanning a useful wide-angle to short telephoto range, the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens from Panasonic is a 24-120mm equivalent zoom designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Designed in collaboration with Leica, this versatile lens utilises four aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements to deliver well-corrected, sharp image quality that is void of colour fringing and distortions. The lens also makes use of a linear motor for fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance, and the POWER Optical Image Stabilizer system helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Additionally, the durable metal body of the lens renders it splash, dust, and freezeproof to suit its use in trying environmental conditions.

  • 24-120mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • ApertureAPERTUREAperture, shutter speed and ISO form what is known as the exposure triangle in photography. Aperture refers to an opening inside the lens, similar to the iris of your eye, that changes in diameter to control the amount of light that enters a camera. Aperture is expressed in f-stops: the lower the number, the larger the aperture, e.g. f/1.4 is larger than f/8. A larger (or wider) aperture allows more light to pass through the lens to the sensor (film) as a picture is taken, particularly useful in low-light conditions. A larger aperture also produces a shallower depth-of-field, and thus more background blur. Range: f/2.8 to f/22
