The Photo and Video Experience 2019 was a bustling event where photographers, hobbyists, phonographers and bloggers gathered to enjoy various interactive classes happening at the stands of top photographic brands.
Yolandi Jacobsz, pro-photographer, Fuji ambassador and owner of The Nicolassi Brand, which provides set designing and styling, hosted a few shoots at the Singer Photographic stand. Photographer Neil Kirby helped with the lighting setup consisting of Elinchrom ELB400 lights and a large Rotolite modifier which provided the most beautiful, soft and moody light.
Renowned for their quality and durability, Elinchrom is a favourite among serious photographers who love to play in the studio and wish to have a kit that provides them with reliable off-camera flash on set and on location. This specific shoot was inspired by and designed with modern pops of colour. The pink chair added interesting shapes while the model’s mustard head scarf provided contrasting colour. A tinge of alluring pink makeup and the bold yet feminine stripes of the Marlize Meeding dress tied everything together beautifully.
This shoot was pure play: making use of the grey backdrop (which works well with most skin tones and makes subjects pop) together with clear direction of the model made for images with a distinct fashion feel.
With the help of model Palesa, Neil and Yolandi, they were able to collectively harness the full potential of the incredible Elinchrom lights creating images that exude quality for high-impact images.
