Do you love animals, conservation and photography? Then enter the Vet Books for Africa (VB4A) One Health Photo Competition and stand a chance to win a R1000 veldskoen voucher, R5000 Outdoorphoto voucher, or one-week stay for up to eight people at Barra Beach in Inhambane, Mozambique.

We would like you to share photos with @vetbooksforafrica that highlight the environment and animals that need to be protected, or capture people contributing towards One Health (which aims to promote images with a One Health message or showcase an interaction between either human, animal, plant or the environment).

The shared photos will be showcased as a “One Health Collection” on the VB4A website and the photos will be judged and three winners chosen by the renowned judges Dr Johan Marais, Albie Venter and Dawie Jacobs. There will be a winner for each of the two categories as well as an overall winner.

*Onderstepoort students who are part of the VB4A Society qualify for a discounted R80 per photo entry.

Prizes

By entering your photo you stand a chance to win the following prizes:

  • Environment + Animal Category: R1000 voucher to spend at Sapmok vellies.
  • One Health Workers Category: Self-catering accommodation for one week that sleeps six to eight people (three-bedroom, three-bathroom house) located on Barra Beach, Inhambane Mozambique. This includes full access to the communal pool and lapa. There are more than eight beach bars located within a 5 km radius of the accommodation and there are lots of activities to do in and around Barra. Note that fore travel, a 4×4 vehicle is required; optional cleaning service at own cost. This prize will be valid from March to October 2021.
  • Overall Winner: The overall winner is for the best photo and fit to the theme. The winner will receive a R5000 voucher to spend at Outdoorphoto, South Africa’s leading online camera store.
