A powerful woman in the photographic industry needs some serious gear. Her main focus is using gear that is lightweight as lugging around heavy equipment on location is just a waste of energy. Ingrid Alice lists all of her gear and gives some motivation why she loves her gear so much.

Light turns the ordinary into the magical – Trent Park
I’ve always used Profoto Lights; even before I could afford them I used to rent them. The clean beautiful light you get on your image just makes your photo sparkle and shine. (I am a total nerd when it comes to lighting – I love it.)
Profoto B1:
Profoto’s B1 Location Kits are my go to for almost everything. I absolutely adore having no cable and the flexibility it gives me while on set. The light quality is beautiful, they aren’t too heavy and they have never ever let me down.
2 x B2s and extra batteries:
I love the Profoto B2 location kit lights – they are easy to carry around and can overpower Cape Town’s high noon sun with no shade, which is no easy feat!
Profoto Modifiers that go everywhere with me:
Beauty dish with a grid and sock
Zoom reflector & barn doors with grids
Profoto grids – love these!!!
Profoto Light modifiers that only come out once in a while:
3 inch Profoto Octa box
5 inch Profoto Octa
Profoto silver OCF beauty dish
Lighting Accessories:
2 x Light stands with a few sand bags. For some reason I have a constant war with light stands and I have no idea why. They’re just the bain of my life.
2 x 5-in-one Reflectors
Bags:
I keep most of my gear in my sturdy Think Tank Airport International Bag V3.0 roller bag. I also have a small Lowepro Format 150 backpack that comes in handy when you’re out on location and need to take a few more lenses up a mountain. But my main bag with all of my core gear is a Ona Messenger Bag. This is just my favorite bag because it’s pretty as well. Bags should be pretty!
With regards to gear
“I like camera gear, like most women like diamonds and chocolate. I have a problem I think…”

JK from Outdoorphoto has been helping me from the start of my photography and honestly, I am so amazingly lucky to have had this guardian angel helping me with my gear choices. I think having a good relationship with a supplier has saved me so much money. There have been times I have wanted to spend on crazy things, that in my mind I just have to have, and fortunately I have been lucky enough to have the relationship where my supplier is credible enough to question some of my more exotic choices and steer me in the right direction.
