Annie Leibovitz
Probably one of the most famous female photographers, Annie Leibovitz is an American photographer situated in New York City. She is known for her enchanting celebrity portraits and has a way of capturing her subjects to reveal their true personality characteristics. She wanted to become an art teacher but found herself mesmerised by photography. Her photographic career started with The Rolling Stone Magazine where she worked as a commercial photographer. She worked her way up to Chief Photographer by the age of 23. Later Leibovitz worked at Vanity Fair where she found her personal style and photographed popular figures such as Bob Dylan, Yoko Ono and The Rolling Stones. She also captured the last image of John Lennon (who died in 1980). Annie Leibovitz became the first woman ever to have a solo exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Ellen von Unwerth
Situated in Paris, France, Ellen von Unwerth is a German photographer named one of the most important people in photography by The American Photo Magazine. Ellen worked as a model herself before turning to photography and is well known for her playful-erotic images of female pop musicians and models. Her big break came in 1989 when she photographed Claudia Schiffer for a Guess fashion campaign. From there, her work appeared in Vogue, Vanity Fair etc. She worked with massive fashion brands like DIOR, Ralph Lauren and John Galliano and won the first prize at the International Festival of Fashion Photography.
Bella Kotak
Bella Kotak had a love for art from a young age. Her career started when she worked in arts and architecture before starting with fine art photography. This fine art, fashion and portrait photographer is situated between the US and the UK. Her photographs are exquisite, graceful and overall magnificent – all of her photographs have their own look and feel, with different meanings and power. Bella’s work is fantasy rich where women are showcased as strong female characters like goddesses, queens and warrior women.

Anais Bizet
French wedding and family photographer who loves capturing detail in every image. Bizet says that human relationships are one of the most important aspects of life. She focuses on the little things and loves natural light – capturing her clients’ key moments that will be remembered forever.

Sharon Radisch
This minimalistic beauty photographer specialises in fashion, travel, and interior photography and is situated in New York and Paris. Sharon went to Paris intending to stay for 6 months to study french but went on to complete her 3-year master’s degree in biology and cellular physiology. After work, she spent her time capturing still life photographs and since then her career grew to amazing heights. Radisch has worked with famous brands and publications like Chanel, Le Prairie, New York Times and many more.
With different backgrounds and stories, these women share a deep love for photography. They leave their creative mark wherever they go and are surely women to keep an eye on.
