1. Quality videos
GoPro makes taking epic HD videos easy. The most advanced model yet, the HERO7 takes silky smooth 4K60p and full HD 1080/240p videos ideal for documenting life’s moments. When outdoors, the built-in microphone performs well with noise reduction, but for vlogging, we recommend pairing it with a Rode VideoMic Go external microphone for distinct audio.
2. Quality photos
Since the HERO6, GoPro investment in a custom processor (the GP1) has paid off. It seriously boosts image performance and enhances image stabilisation which, together with a 12MP camera, and RAW capture and HDR capabilities, makes this a winning choice for taking quality stills. The resolution also delivers quality prints of about 60 x 90 cm.
3. Take anywhere
It only weighs 116 g. The average soap bar weighs about 100 g, but it’s smaller than that at 62.3 x 44.9 x 28.3 mm. It’s highly portable, super lightweight and small making it a breeze to travel with. Just pop it into your bag or carry-on luggage, and you’re (jet) set!
4. Take it all in
Thanks to a fixed 170º wide-angle lens, GoPro lets you take in the entire scene. Whether you’re paddleboarding in Muizenberg or documenting your sibling’s hockey game, GoPro’s classic fisheye effect won’t let you down. PS: Even though it can’t zoom, newer models feature a Touch Zoom that lets narrows the field of view. For 360º footage, the GoPro Fusion is best.
5. Immersive
It’s all about the here and now. GoPro’s endless range of wearable mounts makes it easy to marry GoPro with your lifestyle – no matter what your hobby, they’ll have a mount to capture POV like never before. And if you’re a dog owner, you can even see life through your best friend’s eyes with the GoPro Fetch.
6. Durable
I’ve seen YouTubers drop GoPro’s from cars – they truly are tough little cameras that last. Drop-proof, shockproof and crushproof. Better yet, they’re waterproof to 10m deep without and 60m with a diving housing (sold separately), ideal for watersport enthusiasts or families at the beach.
7. Connected
With in-built Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, you can set up and control your camera from a distance, allowing you to get creative with your storytelling. Experiment with new angles and perspectives… With the HERO7, you can even share live to your Instagram story! It effortlessly pairs with iOS and Android devices.
As an amateur, what editing program can you recommend? Being very old and slow learning your help would be appreciated.

Hi Fanie
Even though GoPro has free editing software, an alternative like Adobe Premier Elements works great! Here’s the link to download https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/premiere-elements-downloads.html it.
