      Lighting is all important in photography - this is not doing it for you. Direction is not ideal, from somewhere behind you will help to minimise shadow spots and strong highlights, also dappled lighting is very difficult to accomodate and expose for in such a wide , general scene, fill flash will not help. Time of day also means strong directional light from high up, very difficult to handle. Subject is OK, but too general, maybe consider concentrating on a single head stone, low or straight viewpoint, tighter framing, textures on stone and engravings can help to add character. Pratice some more, learn to read the light, and get the basics of composition to help you.
