Outstanding image Chris, can't wait for these guy's at Rietvlei to start sprouting their breeding plumage, don't need to go into the details as you've been doing this for quite a while, was just at Herdus & we had a look at the 2002 (then) Agfa Wildlife Awards Calendar with your "The Queen" image of the lioness, outstanding as well I might say!

THanks guys for the positive feedback. Yup, summer's on the way, soon we will have them displaying again . This was taken with my old 500 f/4.5. Was an absolute beauty of a lens.

Chris, extremely impressive shot - another demonstration to the rest of us on how to pan with your subject - is this handheld - if it is then its superb especially with a 500mm lens. Exposure, sharpness and background make this shot a winner! Well done.

      Cheers - Mark

Mark, this was from the car window with a Manfrotto 501 fluid head mounted on a Ergopod window mount.
