Need to replace my camera & Lenses

Hallo.. I haven't been on the forum in ages... and since I am not up to date I need some advice please. I got robbed last weekend and lost the following:
Canon 400D
Sigma 17-70 lens
Canon 70-200 F4 non IS lens
Canon Legria HF 200 video camera

As soon as the insurance approves the claim I would like to replace my kit.
I was very happy with the kit I had, and would like something similar, but might as well upgrade a bit as well.

I was thinking:
Canon 600D
I will get the same 70-200 again, but I am not sure about the Sigma, the main reason being I know they are difficult to get stock of. What other 'every day' would you recommend similar to the Sigma?

I've seen a few places on the net selling the 17-70, Tamron make a nice 17-50, canon have a 17-85, a 15-85, or the 17-55. Dunno much about them, but sure to be lots of info available from here and elsewhere.

Oh, and maybe try get the 650D (once they fix the grip issues) over the 600D

Thank you for the advice, will try and get the 650D, didn't even know about it, hopefully I can find stock.. will be going shopping on Saturday! (at the new ODP shop!)

It seems that I will have to accept what the insurance will offer me and it looks as if it will be:
Canon 550D and Sigma 17-50 lens. Do you think I need to try and get something else/better or is this a good deal?? any advise will be appreciated..

uhmmm ... pity.

But the insurance companies buy in bulk and get discount, so it works out cheaper when they replace rather than pay out (at least in most cases).

If they gave you the money that 650 would have been verrrrryyyyyy nice

as for the lenses - have a look at ODP and ORMS second hand lenses .... some GOOD deals to be made ...

It seems I might after all be able to choose... however, only at a specific store...
So I now need advise... for a everyday lens on a 600D (they dont have 650Ds in stock) which lens will you choose:
Canon EF 17 - 40 mm f 4.0 L USM

Canon EF-S 15 - 85mm f 3.5-5.6 IS USM

Canon EF-S 17 - 55 mm f 2.8 IS USM

17-55 2.8. This is an awesome versatile lens. 2.8 will give u nice background blur. Excellent performer in low light especially for indoor events. Good build quality.
