Canon 1D mark III-auto focus not working?

Hallo

I have a canon 1D mark III for testing but the autofocus is not working,the lens is set on AF but nothing is happening!!!Is there a setting on the camera that i should know of???We have tried a diffrent lens,but it still doesn't work!!!

Any advice much appreciated !!!

The previous owner might have enabled back button focusing. Try holding down the AF-On button on the back.

Hi

If you have borrowed the camera from someone, they may have disabled the AF on the shutter release button in favour of AF using the back AF-ON button only, or possibly the * button.
You a revert to the usual half depressed shutter release button in the custom functions.
