Ok guys, last post about this issue.

Tested the new Sigma 120-300 for the last time. This time focusing on a flat surface (as proposed). So no focusing issues (as suggested). Shot the new 120-300 at f4, the same as my Sigma 100-300mm f4, all at the same settings. I cropped to 100& and included a piece of the sign because I find it easier to check for sharpness with lettering. With the new Sigma 120-300 lens I did not switch on the OS.

Attached the result, again you decide. The top photo is with the new 120-300mm at f4 and the bottom photo with my old Sigma 100-300mm f4.
For me, I will probably go for the 120-300mm, just got to save up a bit,... but overall a very nice lens with excellent build quality. It gives me very much the same ito sharpness, but the f2.8 and price is a seller for me.

Thank you - looks good - thanks for taking the effort - it was one of the criticisms of the coatings Sigma used to use that gave a slight yellow colour (never bugged me) the new 120 -300 OS would have the new coating.

My lens (bottom pick) seems to have a more blue/cyan tint ?

The new 120-300mm seesms to have more accurate colour
