Default Nikon announces two new lense

For the FX boys, a 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5g ED VR wide zoom and for the DC guys an 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6g ED VR.

The 24-85mm looks interesting at it's price point(USD599 from B&H) so I reckon it should be around 7 to 8k when it finally arrives here. Keen on seeing how it performs

Not to crazy about the new lens. The 24-120 f4 may be a bit bigger than the 24-85, but it is a better walkabout lens (I have the old one)

Think it is intended to be an affordable kit lens for the rumored affordable FX D600.

This is now the third incarnation of the 24-85: D, AF-S and now with VR.

    Saw this one tonight...

It's a big and heavy lens, and extends something fierce!

The 24-85mm may have a place in a few bags

as a lower cost alternative to the f/2.8 - eager to see the test results...
