Cape Town event
Shooting the Great White Shark breaching.
I am arranging a trip for photographers to Gansbaai with world shark expert Mike Rutzen from Shark Diving Unlimited to give photographers the opportunity to photograph the Great white shark breachings, which is something that happens mostly during June, July and AUgust.
This is a once off chance in a life time kind of thing - and I would compare it to my trip to see the Gorillas in the mountains which I did last year.
Fortunately you wont have to pay R5000 for the privilege (as I had to do with the Gorillas - for an hour only) but there is obviously costs and commitment involved. You have to work to get the shots.
I am having a get together for photographers at my house on Friday evening to tell you about it - as I did a recce run on Sunday, so I am seriously able to give you first hand information on how this all works, what you need, what you can expect, what lens to use and what hat to wear.
I have a number of people already interested - and if you are keen, please RSVP so I have an idea of numbers.
This is a huge challenge - and you will never forget seeing a breaching.
And no I didnt get eaten by the sharks, neither did I fall off the boat.
