iPads just came in, not online yet... Getting these has just been as difficult as getting 5DmkIII's!!

At least we will be able to provide a much better apple support base in the future (employee training for our first guru has also been completed)

They are supported by the distributers for Apple in South Africa: Core

Totally agree. This is why I was thinking of getting one in the near future.

But, alas the family can't get me an iPad for father's day .... I was blessed by winning an iPad 3 from the company I work for by submitting a winning innovation suggestion. Need to get up to speed quickly on how it works properly etc.

The wifi link back to your office turns this into a remote desktop and you work as normal in the boardroom.

Once you get rid of this mindset, you'll never look back. I work in a Windows environment at the office and Mac at home. Geuss which I find easier and less frustrating to use? .. and BTW, iPad is even simpler and more intuitive once you actual realise that you DO NOT have access to things like directory structures etc.

Good morning Karin Respectfully what you've been told is a myth. I've set up countless Ipads and they work perfectly with the listed applications that you mentioned.

Currently only the actual price of an IPAD should be a concern. My dad just bought himself the new IPAD 3 16GB for R 6250, but it's STUNNING !

Regarding buying an iPHONE , internet is not FREE and thus can be quite costly.
Samsung, I had issues with touch-screen on them for a while. On 2 separate birthdays the touchscreen froze and I couldn't answer any calls - so now I stay away from anything Samsung-related.

But then it is your choice entirely and this is just my opinion.

Hi, I'm a big MS Access user. Is there an App that will allow me use Access on the iPad, and which one? I have not as yet tried searching for one but you response would be appreciated.

Ken, thanks for the info. Incidentally, I actually agree with you on Samsung phones. I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy "Youth", admittedly a very basic phone, but I can't use it at all because it seems that the characters are activated by the heat from the fingers, and I do not have fingers the size of "youth". So the wrong keys are constantly being pressed.

My Samsung laptop, though, is great, I am very happy with it.

(I appreciate the advice, I am asking for opinions.)
