DIY Super Macro - Converting a 18-55 Non IS kit lens (Results Only)

The problem with a Marco reverse ring is that your metering does not work however a quick hack on a spare lense gave me a super macro with metering.

I removed the part that connects to the body and stuck it to the other side removing the pin-to-body connectors from the circuit board and connecting it via some wires back to the PC board


This is the lens shown from the side that connects now to the body


Using LED strip for lighting I did some Marco shoots first at 55mm then at 18mm (18mm give much more macro ratio)


This is at 55mm


And this is at 18mm


Now just to do a makeshift cover to make sure no light bleeds in.
