African Tuesday on Google+
For those who are on Google+ or are thinking of dabbling with it...quite the photographic community going there.
What makes it really interesting is that there are daily themes into which you can submit photos - makes you search and think a bit about what to upload.
It's a lot different than "Vleisboek", and I like it for that.
I started a theme called "African Tuesday" which basically requires that folks post photos taken IN African and ABOUT Africa. I curate the theme along with Johan Swanepoel, a longtime respected ODP member who's also quite active on G+.
We had the "inaugural" African Tuesday earlier this week, and it was a massive success. Images came flooding in from all over the continent and from foreigners who have travelled here. Genres covered wildlife, landscape, archaeological, historical, rural/tribal, street, urban/architectural, automotive etc. Eventually the theme ended up "trending" in the Top5 topics for the most part of the day, peaking at #2 below "Lady Gaga" and above "Apple"...
If you are on G+, check it out and we would love to receive some submissions from ODP'ers next week when we have the 2nd round of African Tuesday.
You can check out the theme page here:

To view all submissions received on the "inaugural" run, search for #africantuesday on the main G+ home page.
