Wedding Photographer for a day - Advice
Hey all
A quick few questions
My Cousin is going to be getting married soon - not 100% sure of dates yet BUT they cannot afford a Wedding Tog so I have offered to do some pics for them.
NO i am not planning on going INTO this It is a favour. Besides stressing that I am not doff, pretty creative, have a relatively good eye; I have the following:
600D, 18-55, 55-250 and 50mm; 430EX flash and 270ex flash, couple of tripods etc
On the day what woud you suggest I use, typically as the lense - 18-55? Perhaps in the church the 55-250? - probably get a helper OR borrow a different body as a spare.
Just some hints and tips to get better pics for them.
Thanks in advance.

Shjoe, weddings are tough.
The 18-55 and 55-250 will be okay, but I'd suggest renting some faster glass and a body. 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 will do you fine.
Learn about flash bounce techniques and off camera lighting. Read lots of material on posing and most of all, pack lots of energy bars, drinks etc. Don't forget spare batteries and spare mem cards either.
Good luck!

GREAT idea - didn't think of renting fast glass! I can't find rental info on ODP site - hmmmm perhaps go to Lensrent?

Don't stress too much. Weddings aren't as hardcore as people make them out to be - you just need to be alert the ENTIRE time. I'd rent a 24-70 if I were you. Then just take the 24-70 and your 50mm. Those two lenses are enough for the day. They're both sharp and fast. The two lenses you own are neither of those.
Also get radio triggers for your flashes if you don't have them already.
Lastly, have an assistant on the day. I honestly cannot imagine shooting a wedding the way I do without an assistant.

Hey EttVenter
I have a 50mm and I will try and get a 24-70mm. An assistant should not be a problem as i have brothers and cousins LOL
I can't seem to find a 24-70 on ODP or Lensrent...
