Default PS Elements, saving image as jpg, image size issues??

    Hello All,

I bought myself PS Elements, but cannot find how to save an image as a jpg?? It gives me option like .psd, .tiff, photoshop raw etc, but nothing like jpg. I am using "saving as " button.

Also, when I try and resize image I can only toggle the size in cm's and the res?? It greys out the pixels??

    What am I doing wrong??

    Regards

    Hey Leon

When you open the NEF file into Elements, you process and develop, and then press OPEN (not save). This will open the photo into the normal processor where you can resize etc. When finished, just click file, save as, select the format you want and voila! Hope that helps bud

    Hey Paul,

The answer actually is in ACR, where you can open the RAW file is either 16 or 8 bit. When you open in 16 bit you cant save the file as a jpeg, but when you open in 8 bit its no problem. Apparently the 16 bit file is just to big hence options of tiff, psd etc.

    All the best.

haven't been on this site for quite a while.

if an image is still full of layers, elements can't save as jpeg. flatten the image and then save as will be able to save as jpeg. if you want to save it layered for further work on it later, save it as psd
