    Thank you. interesting indeed.

I know that it's done because the reviewer is looking for a fair comparison, but why down sample or shoot the D800 in Dx mode to compare. In my real life I compose the picture and take the shot. I really wish to know when I am in the theatre shooting the ballet which image will be better everything else remaining the same.

    To me that's fair.

It seems that the D800 wins handsomely.

Shees... Look at the comments. They are so busy pixel-peeping I wonder if they ever get time to go and take photos....

Oddly enough I find I'll survive using my D300s. No need to upgrade yet IMO

Well said! I find the internet full of reviews from pixel-peeping obsessed geeks. I'm bored to death with those ISO comparisons, I've stopped reading them. And it means absolutely nothing to me because I hardly ever go as far as ISO 6400.

I've decided not to 'upgrade' from my D7000 unless/until it does something stupid that embarrasses me or costs me money.

    Seems fair.

This looks like a fair balanced review - http://mansurovs.com/nikon-d800-review

I don't mind pixel-peeping mainly because I still shoot a D80. iso320 and you start getting noise, iso 800 and the images can be trashed.

    That's why I ordered a D800
