    Default Pre-cut mats

Does anyone know of a supplier of standard sized, pre-cut mats in SA (preferably Gauteng)?

In the picture framing industry, a mat (or mount in British English) is a thin, flat piece of paper-based material included within a picture frame, which serves as additional decoration and to perform several other, more practical functions, such as separating the art from the glass. Putting mats in a frame is called matting, a term which can also usually be used interchangeably with mat.

You put a mat in front of your bath.

You mount a photograph on acid free board.

The matte is the cut-out you put over the mounted photograph…

Just get a framer to cut you some to spec. Shouldn't be too pricey if you shop around a bit and if you have good volumes.

I actually bought a matt cutter this week, but needless to say it is going to take practise a lot of it as well. Boards are cheap though. If you can get the stuff at good price then it will be worth it, but at the moment I wont have volumes and neither looking to do volumes either
