Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
For those privileged few who have a 5DIII already, read what Arthur Morris from Birds as Art have to say about the 5DIII and converting it's RAW files.

Re: Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
Thanks for the information Hannes. I got my 5DIII on Friday last week and it is an incredible camera - solid feel, very user friendly, excellent high ISO capabilities and the new AF system is great. Unfortunately the Camera Raw 6.7 Plug-in is only available for Photoshop CS and Lightroom 4 and not for Photoshop Elements. The best guess is that is will be available within the next couple of weeks. I would appreciate it if anyone reading this has more updated information.

Nope, also waiting... Just want to point out that these are RC (release candidates) in any case and every now and again, something odd happens

Nice to see Arthur M feels the 5DmkIII AF is up to the task.

Re: Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
I am not able to get any clear indication when the Camera Raw Plug-in for Photoshop Elements that includes the 5DIII will be available. An interim solution is to download the DNG Converter release 6.7 (see link below) and then to convert your 5DIII raw files into the DNG format. You can then open these files in Elements using your present camera raw plug-in.

Re: Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
Ok, I will confirm that I really don't think the DNG work-around is any good... It's better if you use it inside Adobe's RAW converters, but really, anything else and the settings just goes haywaire!
Left is the DNG through C1Pro6, middle is JPEG, right is Photoshop CS6 (and CS5 is exactly the same)

JPEG is fine, but the RAW converters are blocked out, the Adobe one is much better, but not there. Think I will wait for my C1 Updates

I wish I had a MKIII to experience these problems

Re: Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
Sean - it is good to be aware of this ... thanks for the information. However, I don't have Photoshop CS or Lightroom 4 - only Photoshop Elements. Therefore, if I want to convert my RAW files I can use DPP or this workaround. I have not observed any differences but will now certainly be careful. If you convert a file with this method using Elements and convert the same file using Camera Raw 6.7 and CS do you see any difference ?
The joys of being an early adopter

Re: Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
Can't say, I don't have elements, but I would guess it would be the same as they use the same RAW engine. Anyhoo... I think it's the BETA DNG converter that's not quite there yet.
Not to worry... I am pretty sure the final release updates will be with us soon!

Re: Canon 5DIII users - Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW 6.7 Plug-in
Does anyone have an update on when Adobe is planning to release the Camera Raw 6.7 plug-in so that I can use this with Photoshop Elements. I can't find anything on the internet and no response so far from Adobe. I am now even considering upgrading to Photoshop CS or buying Lightroom so that I can use the Camera Raw 6.7 beta version of the plug-in. To me this issue is of much higher importance than the "light leak issue" which has had no effect on my photography. However, the Camera Raw issue has seriously disrupted my workflow...
