    Default Linkstar as a decent starting point for studio lights

    Hi,
    I've trolled about a bit and am looking for some opinions on Linkstar studio lights. Any one with any experience? Your input will be valued.

    Many thanks
    Trevor

    Hi Trevor! Well, it's probably a start. How much is it and what do you get? What is their support like in SA? The problem with cheaper lights is that they are just not as consistent as some of the known brands like Profoto, Hensel, Elinchrom etc. I have never heard of these lights but it will probably be a good idea to contact Sean Nel (Forgiss), he'll be able to give you better advice for sure. I'm sure he'll be along soon though since he doesn't miss anything that happens here on ODP.

    @Chris, look here - http://www.diyphotography.net/build-...s-light-source

    @Dirk - I'll give Sean a shout. I realise you get what pay for, and saw what looks attractive. I guess if you make your living from the gear it's more important to get it right. For me right now, it's more a case of dipping my toe in the water.

    Trevor thank you !

    Two of these units and you should have enough light in the studio, and then a fill lash if you need to freeze some motion.

    I see a NICE project coming.
