    Post New iPad and iPhoto

I guess iPads are going to become plentiful on secondhand sites when existing owners get to see the new retina display on the new iPad (couldn't they have called it iPad 3 to avoid confusion with previous products?).

Also of interest to togs is the iPhoto app has been updated.

Yep, but like iPhoto, this will presumably be available to older iPad2s and iPhones.

Since you need ios5.1 for iPhoto I'd presume so.

No big deal, connect to wifi, select OTA update, and leave it... finishes off in about 10 minutes, reboots, all done

I can't wait for October - iPad 4 will be comming out! Ipad 3(New) is now... I'd rather wait - NO WAIT! I will wiat till April NEXt year and get iPad 5... *SIGH*

OK i give up - I don't want something that will be "old" in 6 months... I'll stay with my HTC Flyer (which cost more than the iPad when i bought it LOL) and better resolution too...

What are you on about? Apple releases products on a fairly predictable cycle (annually in the case of the iPad) thereby minimising buyers remorse.

The new retina display is going to awesome, when I go from my iPhone 4S to iPad 2 it's hard to stomach the iPad's low resolution display.

Yes they do and in so doing increases their sales AND profits (IT'S ALL ABOUT BUSINESS and MONEY - there is a documentary around about it) as you will have a person buying the "same" item 3 times in 3 years and thus maximising profits. This was the strategy with iPod form the begining when Jobs came back to SAVE Apple... Some people in the US have 4-6 iPods!! It is a genius way of making money. Come up with something new, flood the market and before a competitor can follow suit bring out a new version!! Keep the buyer wanting MORE and MORE...

It's all about business Williams and in return you get a new version - like clockwork hahahahahahahahahaha (Thriller type sounding laugh)

I've got no stake in Apple. I just have a thing against copious amounts bullsh*t being presented as fact.

Cannot compare the Flyer's resolution with the iPad which is now up to 264ppi (Flyer is 176ppi).

The reason being it's not the *same* product... it's a better product with enough compelling feature upgrades that makes people want it/need it to be able to do certain things.

People swing iphones/ipods/ipads faster than any competing brand/type products, but keep their apple computers/notebooks almost twice as long as other brand/types

I agree Sean - but I am mainly talking about iPods and iPads. The iPhones typically are taken on contracts and in SA that means a 18-24 month turnover. iPods at one stage were being updated fairly quickly hence people having so many of them i.e. upgraded memory, capabilities etc.

Computing I agree but I recon cost has a big part to play in that. I must say though I may go for an iPad by next year sometime.. who knows. But then again, more glass sounds more appealing hahaha
