Default Nikon D800 vs. Nikon D700 high ISO comparison

    From NikonRumors.com

This Nikon D800 vs. D700 ISO comparison was initially posted on the techbang.com.tw and my understanding is that it was later removed. I have not seen the original post and I don't know all the details, but I assume those are 100% crops. You will have to ignore the fact that all D700 samples are blurry and just pay attention to the ISO performance. Keep also in mind that the D800 was probably a pre-production version. I did not include the samples bellow ISO 3200 because there was no visible noise. You can click on the sample images for a slightly larger view:

That's pretty impressive, the D800 is going to kick butt.

Perhaps this a more credible source as to higher ISO performance of the Nikon D800? By Cliff Mautner, a respected wedding photographer, who actually used a D800 prototype.

Just scroll down on his blog page until you get Feb 8 2012The Nikon D800- A few more features to point out entry
    http://www.cmphotography.com/blog.cfm

    He claims:
D800 ISO performance similar to D700 and D3 which is pretty remarkable considering 36MP!
    Improved autofocus over the D3s!
Amazing improvements in dynamic range and metering

My biggest question though is that this 36Mp sensor is surely far more susceptible to camera shake and motion blur and will need to be shot at higher shutter speeds or on a tripod?

I really am dying dying to see it myself - when my camera arrives.
