    Default Catalogue shoot advice please

    Hey guys

A client has contacted me regarding shooting their clothing range. the photo's will be used in a printed catalogue.

advice i am needing is :

    1) what is the best way to control WB?

    2) background, does it have to be pure white or can it have a grey cast to it? obviously the designer will need to pull out the model and add their own background color.

    Many thanks

*EDIT* when i mean white: do i have to light my background its white seamless paper

Interesting - would you light the background continuously and use a flash as well or what would be best?

I will light it with 2 x Elinchrom strobe's one either side with screen prohibiting any light splash from these heads.. Continuous would be a mission (i dont have the correct gear), i could use normal lights but then it would be a different colour light compared to my strobe and cause unnecessary heat!

i dont know if thats the correct term..

We want to control that light at much as possible so i want screens up so that the lights used to light the background do not interfere with my subject and just light the background.. make sense?

check the crude diagram.. thats going to be my basic setup for this job. simple lighting nothing to fancy. however, if i can get away without using light on my backdrop ill add in a hair light above my subject just to add to the photo. the light behind me will be around 2m above me.
