I do not understand your disappointment, Pierre? Is buddy-buddy not exactly what your original post expected? ODPs voting for your picture as fellow ODP, and not because of the power of your photo?

    Hi Pierre,

Well done! Really like your pic. I admit I don't like the facebook voting thing, as the best pic doesn't always get the most votes. I don't use facebook, so even if my pic is the best, it can lose to the guy with the most "buddies". But that's the world we live in.

I also managed to get in for my category (toy stories) http://www.csaexpo.co.za/gallery/TS1.html. And so did my wife http://www.csaexpo.co.za/gallery/CE5.html (through a child's eye).

Obviously I would like to win, but I would ask the guys here to vote for the pic they think is the best. At least (I would hope) it is unbiased.

I any event, well done again, it's a great pic!

100% agree Dave.....best of luck to all of the finalists. It is a very exciting thing to be in the running.....I have been keeping an eye on my pic in Circles and having the votes unknown (those posted via the Canon site and those to be cast at the Expo) is quite nerve-wracking and really adds to the excitement.....

Dave...good luck to you and your wife.....at least we are not competing in the same category! ;-)

Pierre....I really like your pic and was wondering where it was taken? Very dark sand...volcanic?

Thanks bud, same to you! I am especially glad not to be competing against my wife. Can you imagine the damage? I learnt early on never to play risk (the game) against your wife. The war becomes all too real! .

I am sure that extends to photo competition's.

Hi there Sunrise. It was taken on the Amalfi Coast (Italy) in a town called Atrani. Thank you. Pierre
