Re: ODP complaints .....
yes... it helps a lot!
for some reason, as the query (for both you Dave, and Elsa) hits the 213.239.236.67 router at Hetzner, no response comes back to you... My path to the server comes from a different direction to the final server so it actually seems that a specific router at Hetzner is giving problems and causing the Time-outs...
I have requested the Hetzner techs to look at that router.
Thankyou for the feedback! I really hope the solution is this simple!

I'm not having speed issues, but I am getting frustrated by the fact that I have tried to make 2 threads that are not being approved by mods. I submitted one yesterday and the day before. They were not infringing on any rules and I do not see them in the forum nor have I received word from forum staff. Maybe someone can shed some light? I need help from you guys with purchasing and leave for a month long holiday and time is running out for the help

No, we have a spam filter in place that helps us track link spammers etc, it leans heavily on low post count members because a spambot will post a few one line messages before switching to a spam link post.
The system looks at your posts,my our post count, post frequency, and the content and if anything dodgy shows up, it flags it.... Unfortunately we do get a few false positives in between but these generally get picked up within a few hours by the moderators.

Re: ODP complaints .....
Feedback from Hetzner:
2 possible problems:
1. one of the DG Routers goes into an infinite loop causing the timeouts and slowdowns
2. blacklisted block IP's
Both possible and both make sense - Telkom switches IP addresses frequently, so if a set of IP's were blacklisted internationally for spam or copyright infringements (downloading movies and pirated software, etc) the IP would be blocked but because Telkom swops the IP's around the whole time, you might get a bad one, and half an hour later have a new one that is fine.
makes it very difficult to track and trace!
