Need help with light meter and wireless test shots
Hi all and thank you for your help.
I am new to light meter with a meter and need your help.
I have bought a Sekonic L-358 light meter. On my Canon 550EX Speedlite, I have a Phottix Aster Receiver which works excellent with my camera and Aster sender on my camera's shoe.
Today I have bought also a Phottix RT-32 module for my light meter to trigger my flashes wireless when taking light readings. But, for the life of me I cannot get the light reader to trigger the flash. Both the module for the light meter and the receiver for my flash, are 433MHz. Both light meter and flash receiver are set on channel 1.
I have just tested it with my Elinchrom BX 500Ri lights which also don't wire when I press the button on the light meter to take a reading. (Now I'm feeling like an idiot.
)
I hope I am doing something wrong which I will be able to fix with your help.
Thank you very much.

Re: Need help with light meter and wireless test shots
question: My sekonic has 2 flash modes (and one ambient mode) - 1. instant trigger or 2. Flash 'wait' (the second one will wait for a flash to be triggered by something else) are you on the right setting?
Ambient will do nothing, off course...

Hi Sean and thank you for the reply.
When you plug in a transmitter module, RT-32, the extra symbol for wireless triggering appears. I had is on that setting.
I have confirmation that the RT-32 does not work with the Phottix and also not with elinchrom. The radio transmitter in the Sekonic works on 433Mz and elinchrom's Skyports on 4.2Gz. Thank you very much for your repl.
