    Default Waterkloof Airshow

Visited the airshow today, arrived around 08h00 and already the entire flightline was crowded. Masses of people, would love to know how many people attended. Pity about the parabats that were injured http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/Ne...-jump-20111001 Hoping they are going to be ok.
Still prefer Swartkops as an airshow venue!

I arrived at 07h00 and already had a battle to get parking. At one stage a the anouncer said he guessed at least 40000 people attended. I got some great pics. Very happy. Dam I just need a bigger lens now. The grippen and hawk displays were awsome. Oh well I suppose a parachute packer will have to explain monday. We left at about 12h30 and people were still streaming in. I liked the american serviceman's band the played really well.

I was rather disappointed with Waterkloof ; in my view Swartkops was much better. Swartkops had a better program, more action, no long delays between program items, even items were dragged out. It also felt too far from the action and the runway. I have a feeling that more attention were given to VIP's and the masses who supported the event were secondary. The gate I went in opened late, and parking control not up to scratch. But I am reasonably happy with most of my shots ; I've learned a few good lessons at Swartkops which paid off.

I just hope they can get their act together for AAD next year.
