Thank you so much for this information! Jason kindly pointed me to this thread and it is exactly what I am after.

I so hope these chocolates aren't seasonal...

It's my pleasure guys and I hope it helps.
The chocolates are sometimes out of stock but I'm sure you will find some.

Ok so I must say that I had some pretty good results (well, for me at least) with the home made chocolate box paper diffuser so far.

The only hangup I have is with the longevity and the flimsiness of the thing. It seems that after some fair use the paper is ready to give in and needs to be readjusted the whole time.

Have any of you considered the Gary Fong puffers yet? I came across the following threads:

    http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=481792

    http://nocroppingzone.blogspot.com/2...-for-2008.html

I think this should give the same diffusion as the chocolate box paper and it's a more permanent solution. I've ordered two of them, so will report back on my findings in a couple of weeks...

Why would you have a problem with getting new chocolate box papers?! If you have a short supply, I will sell mine to you at a very reasonable price!

Hi Sean, I can surely do with an excuse to stock up on some swiss chocolates :-)

As I mentioned, I am looking for a more permanent solution with the same results. As you know, hunting bugs can take its strain on your equipment and anything less than plastic is sure to cave in first...

In December I bought every box available in Woolworths - Vida's brand was out of stock. I tried white boxes, green boxes, brown boxes without any luck but the family were very pleased about my search and encouraged me to continue!!!!

    Hi Sean
This support was definitely about their chocolate benefit not so much about the photography support!!! Woolies still don't seem to have the orginal Vida brand

You are right. If chocolate keeps them happy....I will keep on buying and keep on "clicking".

Hi. Have you received and tested yet? I have asked my "supplier" to see if he can source them for me.

I actually got a box in the Faerie Glen Woolworths (corner of Olympus and Hans Strydom) if you want to try that one. The chocolates are divine as well :-)

After phoning almost every photography store in Gauteng I had to order online, so still awaiting delivery. They say 13-21 days :-(

I've already done the searching and this one is by far the cheapest. Crap thing is you'll have to buy two for the MT-24EX twinlite: http://www.wantitall.co.za/Photograp...ON__B0011000R6

Ok.. my supplier said he can get the kits for R80. It includes blue, orange and white + hotshoe adapter (adapter to fit on hotshoe and use for pop up flash disussing). He is going to order 10 sets and keep them stock.

Wow!! That's probably the rip-off version, not the geniune Gary Fong. But they're indistinguishable by the looks of things.

I'll take 2 from my side then as well - can you give me his details or can I get it through you?

For those that are interested go to Dalantech's blog http://nocroppingzone.blogspot.com/. It will spare some of the grey hair and frustration regarding diffusers for macro photography, but READ THE BLOG FROM THE BEGINNING.

Vida you diffusers give awsome results.
