Wow... that seems low to me... My quick finger count about doubled that for a basic setup.

Don't forget about setting up make-up areas and lighting for it, flooring and floor replacements for damage, electrical points, emergency power, mirrors on the wall, security, secure storage, etc...

Then again... it kinda depends on the typical client you would like to target, which would also influence the fees you can charge

Thats all already here. My figure is purely for the lighting and backdrops. Obviously the running/depreciation costs of all the other items you mentioned will be included when I do the feasability.

    Hi Slummbies

Im from Durban malvern area.its like to read my mind.I am looking also for studio space.at least 60-100m2 .I viewed and 60m2 today near Hillary kitchen and toilet..Outside the possibility for a private garden. Its on the main Stella road.So lots of traffic. They want R4000/month that's way to much.He also said he can negotiate on the price The place is not visible so its downstairs. But it got sooo much potential.

My end goal is to hire it out like max and also do my studio /stock images

I do have a small studio with everything 3x5m(studio) but i don't know how long i will have it

Could anyone recommend one - it doesnt need to be massive as I do mainly portraits/portfolios but it would need to have lighting etc.

    Thanks

I am looking for a space or studio in Durban where I can do natural light photography. I need huge windows that lets in lots of light and preferably a natural wall that I can use as a back drop. Durban north or Umhlanga area. Thanks.

Hi Guys in terms of equipment sales and studio hire in Durban I know Broadcast Lighting is brilliant for both, perhaps have a look at their website I have a set of studio lights and buy all my equipment from them. They have large windows for natural lighting and they have a new upstairs studio I hire for R250 with lighting.

R250 or R250 per hour? Because if just R250, it's super cheap!
